The Obama Fixation

Commentators. They can't help it. They're afflicted with Obama Fixation (or tunnel-vision-itis aggravated by "daddy issues"), a debilitating pundit disease. Symptoms include night sweats, hallucinating Obama's face (the one shown at left), and excessive ink spilling on all things Obama. Maureen Dowd: "President Obama has turned out to be the odd case of a pragmatist who can’t learn from his mistakes and adapt." Matt Miller: "Snap. It’s the sound of confidence in Obama’s leadership breaking." Chris Cillizza: "Congrats President Obama, for owning an economy that’s going nowhere fast, you had the worst week in Washington." Robert Reich: "The president doesn't seem to appreciate the urgency of America's growth crisis." (Really, Bob? C'mon, dude.) The Obama Fixation is truly scary ― esp. given today's Reuters poll finding that Republicans and the Tea Party are “bearing the brunt of public blame” for the debt ceiling mess. Americans get it. Apparently, only fixated numbskulls and pundits don't. But, as Twain would say, I repeat myself.
