Keep castigating Obama, please

The more they call Obama a loser, the more wins he racks up. The Weekly Standard is a particularly good barometer. Jon Chait noted that former Bush administration "Minister of Propaganda" Pete Wehner had this to say in the conservative magazine's current issue: "The president’s foreign policy has been characterized by strained relations with our allies and weakness toward our enemies. He’s shown indifference to human rights and an eagerness to cede American sovereignty to international bodies. And he has been half-hearted in fighting the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya." Except he's ending the Iraq war and winding down Afghanistan; he killed bin Laden and, oh yeah -- terminated the Qaddafi regime (none of which Bush could do). It must be frustrating for Republicans when the damn facts keep getting in the way of their fictional narratives. In fact, as Chait deadpans: "There are a lot of people in Syria right now praying that the Standard uses its next issue to castigate Obama for having failed to depose Assad." Heh.
