Has it really come to this?

For reasons known only to the deity he prays to (and perhaps the voices in his head), photog Chip Somodevilla of Getty Images deemed Sarah Palin's toe-nails to be newsworthy. That said, the artful shot does reveal three things about Ms. Palin: She is devoid of good taste, she has the fashion sense of a teenage girl, and she has buckets of cash to lavish on a talented pedicurist. But that's hardly news.
