Beset by woes

"GOP FORCES OBAMA TO RESCHEDULE JOBS SPEECH, screamed the lead Washington Post headline. Oh my Lawd! Cue the horror movie scream. Given the utter ridiculousness of this media-created "issue," I won't dignify it with a comment. But I can easily imagine President Obama thinking: "Why can't I ever catch a break?" Ever wonder why every president, regardless of party, is beset with problems, especially of the trivial kind? The late Adm. Elmo "Bud" Zumwalt, former Chief of Naval Operations, had a succinct answer: "If you have more than a million men working for you, every unpleasant problem that has one chance in a million of occurring will occur at least once." About 3 million people work for Obama. Gulp! (Hat tip: Tom Ricks, Foreign Policy)
