When a college education fails miserably

On foreign policy, Texas Governor Rick Perry (soon to join the presidential race) is being described as a "hawk internationalist," whatever that means. Already, Michael Goldfarb is in the tank for him. The former John McCain aide (whom Andrew Sullivan calls "The Weekly Standard's resident neo-fascist") said: "[Perry's] a cowboy ... You have to assume he'd shoot first and ask questions later -- which would be nice after four years of a leading from behind, too little too late foreign policy." Because America loves endless war and the smell of napalm in the morning, right? Especially "tough guys" like Goldfarb -- you know, think tank dweebs who'd never dream of trading their Gucci loafers for combat boots. Goldfarb is a Princeton graduate. I hope, Dear God, he's not representative.
