Famous last words

"They couldn't hit an elephant at this distance," said Union Major-General John Sedgwick moments before he was shot during the Spotsylvania Court House skirmish on May 9, 1864. A true story. By all accounts, Sedgwick was a brave officer who had been wounded by bullets three times in previous engagements during the Civil War.
