A 'star' implodes, finally

So, what do the supernova remnant Crab Nebula and Glenn Beck have in common? Both massively imploded. Beck was essentially fired by Fox News today for crimes against rationality. The Washington Post reported that his "falling ratings and the flight of advertisers spooked by Beck’s penchant for conspiracies and controversy" finally did in the false prophet. Hallelujah, and praise Jesus! Now, everyone, STAND UP, and sing it with me, this time with feeling: "Soon we'll reach the shining river, soon our pilgrimage will cease; soon our happy hearts will quiver, with the melody of peace. [Refrain]: Shall we gather at the river, the beautiful, the beautiful river; gather with the saints at the river, that flows by the throne of God ..." Be seated. So, what's the difference between the Crab Nebula and Glenn Beck? The latter, unlike the former, will disappear from our sight into the deep gravity-well of a black hole, if we're lucky. One more time: "Shall we gather at the river, the beautiful, the beautiful river ..."
