POLITICO: Busted, again

Oh, c'mon POLITICO, you guys are making it too easy. Yesterday, before Obama gave his big budget policy speech, POLITICO penned one of those "what Obama should say" essays. In a nutshell, they counseled that he needed to reassure his liberal base but signal to Republicans that he's open to compromise, set out a sharply different vision than House Republicans, beat up on Rep. Paul Ryan and his budget plan, and take Dem advice and make the moral case for Medicare. Obama did all of that and more. Today, as Media Matters noted, POLITICO took the president to task for, as they put it, "beat[ing] up" the Republicans with "a fiscal olive branch." In effect, they fault Obama for following their advice. So typical. So predictable.
