40 fries short of a happy meal

In a burst of "birther" madness, the brainiacs in the Arizona Legislature here approved a proposal that would require President Obama and other presidential candidates to prove they are U.S. citizens before their names can appear on the state’s ballot, reports the Washington Post. Whenever someone says "it's not about the money" or "it's not about race," it's always about the money or about race. Republican Rep. Carl Seel, the bill's author, said the bill wasn’t about opposition to Obama. Right. It's about Obama. Seel told the Post, “This bill is about the integrity of our elections.” Honest. Cross my heart. With sugar on top. The final vote was 40-16. Or put another way, that makes Arizona 40 fries short of a happy meal, officially. If Gov. Brewer signs this embarrassing bill (and she probably will), make it 41 fries.
