Al-Jazeera reports: "After several days of skirmishes, the frontlines keep moving back and forth between Brega and Ajdabiya, with neither side able to make any significant move." The media is calling this a stalemate. Technically, that's correct. But since the Libyan Army (happily) seems powerless to close the deal and crush the rebels due to dwindling supplies and men, and NATO airstrikes, the more appropriate chessboard assessment is simply "check."
