Show me the money

The political press expressed surprised today that GOP strategist Ed Rollins has agreed to run Michele Bachmann's (unannounced) 2012 presidential campaign. (Bachmann is the one that once warned that the Obama administration might use Census data to round up Americans and put them in internment camps. Yeah, her.) Rollins, a well-known talking head on tv, ran the 1984 Reagan reelection campaign. The Gipper won in a landslide. So why would an eminently rational operator like Rollins sign on with Bachmann (who is both unelectable and maybe crazier than Sarah Palin)? Simple: Money. Lots and lots of money. And if he's smart, he'll ask for the cash up front in stacks of unmarked bills. Ain't politics grand?
