He might say dis, he might say dat ...
The New York Times wants you to know "What to expect tonight." To wit: "President Obama plans to announce Wednesday evening that he will order the withdrawal of 10,000 American troops from Afghanistan this year, and ..." Um, stop. I have a better idea. We don't we take a deep breath and just listen to the president's address when he delivers it at 8 p.m. ET. That way, we eliminate the guess work, right? When reporters go into "what to expect" mode, they remind me of that annoying kid in my 11th grade history class. He always had a three-part question (usually with a follow-up) to showcase his smarts. We all just wanted to smack him. Americans tuning in tonight care only about what Obama actually says, not what he might say. But try explaining that to smarty-pants reporters. (Hmm. So that's what happened to 3-part-question-Johnny. He's at the Times. Figures.)
