How to throttle a political vamp

Though she emphatically promised to tour the Midwest after wrecking havoc on the eastern seaboard, Sarah Palin is suddenly back in Alaska sans bus. Um, what happened? The media turned off the cameras is what happened. No pictures, no Palin. After screaming "Look at me! Look at me!" to no effect, she pouted, abandoned the "One Nation" Bus by the side of the road, and stomped home to Wasilla in a huff. Are you honestly surprised? Me neither. According to Wikipedia, staking (through the heart) is the most commonly cited method to take down a vampire. In the case of political vamp Palin (she feeds not on blood but our sanity), all the media need do is ignore her. Then - poof! - she disappears. Who knew it was so damn easy? Which brings up an interesting point: Given the symbiotic Palin/media relationship, I'm starting to wonder who is manipulating whom.
