No easy solutions for DADT

In 1948, President Harry Truman integrated the U.S. armed forces by excecutive order. Today, many Americans ask why doesn't President Obama employ the same means to kill the "don't ask, don't tell" policy? If only it were that easy. Jonathan Capeheart writes:
"Folks eager for Obama to emulate Truman ought to remember this point. Truman did not have to overcome an act of Congress to integrate the armed forces."
So unless Congress does it, ending DADT gets very messy. Capeheart further explains the problems in detail here. It's the best summary I've read to date.
