'Opulence, I has it'

Every once in a while, advertisers get it right. I mean, laugh out loud right. DIRECTV’s "Opulence, I has it" commercial is as funny as it brilliant, right down to the miniature giraffe. Actor Timothy V. Murphy plays the protagonist.

A recent review: "In this thirty two-second clip, Murphy plays a Russian oligarch who likes his furniture dipped in gold and wades assuredly in a Lewis Carroll-induced fantasia where pedigreed dogs play poker and M&Ms come in one color. Murphy, whose rugged looks recall an older Vigo Mortensen, nailed the role, thuggish snarl and all. And when you throw in the mix the fantastically memorable mini-me played by a pigmy giraffe, sparks fly and the Gods of Inventiveness are restful. No human sacrifices required until Winter."
