Here we go again

It sure seems like Brett Favre is queuing up for his “Tiger Moment.” Per ESPN, the NFL is fast tracking their probe into his alleged sexual harassment of Jennifer "Jenn" Lynette Sterger, 26, a former Jets employee (she worked as a “Gameday Host”). Before I continue, let’s be clear. If the allegations against Favre are true, he should be sacked. Period. Game over.

That said, the trouble with these scandals is that the picture is almost always blurry. (OK, the Tiger case became a slam dunk once Blonde Skank Number 3, 4, 5 and 6 came out.) Who knows what really occurred between Favre and Sterger? It is unlikely we’ll ever know. Favre’s reputation is well known to most: Professional Super Jock. The implications of that NFL battleship class, on and off the gridiron, both good and bad, pretty much sums him up.

National television “discovered” Sterger in 2005 during a college football game. She was one of the FSU Cowgirls who are renowned for their scanty attire. When announcer Brent Musburger saw Sterger, he commented that “1,500 red-blooded Americans just decided to apply to Florida State." Yes, YouTube captured it for all eternity. And yes, Sterger is a buxom, smokin’ hot woman (you’re blind if you disagree). You can guess the rest. Having felt the loving glow of the klieg lights, she ended up posing for both Maxim and Playboy, was/is the "Sports Babe" for Sprint Exclusive Entertainment, and was named one of the “20 Hottest Women of the Web” by E! Entertainment Television. (The specific show doing the rankings is called – wait for it – “Byte Me.”)

You see where I’m going with this. Young Sexy Woman + Rich Greek God Jock = Train Wreck. Put another way, an attractive female accustomed to leveraging her assets plus an attractive pro quarterback accustomed (since high school) to welcoming those leveraged assets still equals train wreck. Sure, it’s possible both parties are perfectly innocent. It’s a big, unfortunate misunderstanding. Sure. But it’s more likely Favre and Sterger are both guilty to some degree. But Favre will settle out court, retire again, and then return again. Sterger will reap millions and land a sexy new gig, more popular than ever. Everybody wins, right? Only in America.
