According to NBC's Michael Isikoff, Callista Gingrich is the real reason why Newt's entire campaign staff fired him. Not only did she insist on having the campaign arrange screenings for the movies made by the couple's for-profit production company, Isikoff said Callista hijacked hubby's campaign schedule and exercised imperial control over it. That included "her refusal to allow early-morning departures for campaign events because she insisted she needed time to have her hair done." No word on whether the staff was also required to kiss her Tiffany ring as a token of respect. Talk about a perfect set-up for the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Evidently, the newly departed senior staff finally concluded that they only had two shots at winning arguments with Mistress Callista -- slim and none. I'm actually starting to feel a bit sorry for Newt. Who knew Callista led a double life -- hers and his. Yikes. (Is it just me or does Callista look like a Stepford Wife?)
