Thank you, Sarah Palin

Forever playing the victim-card, Sarah Palin denigrates the "lamestream" media for mocking her intellect (or whatever it is that takes up space between her ears). But thanks to her most recent babblings, Paul Revere (and by extension, the American Revolution) hasn't gotten this much attention since Longfellow published his famous poem about the patriot. Revere was a top trending topic on Google Saturday. Granted, many of those Google searches were conducted by journalists and political observers like me (you know, folks who, unlike Palin, do their homework before commenting on a subject). Still, anything that inspires Americans to read their history is a good thing. So, thank you, Sarah Palin, you inadvertently did something useful. Of course, there is a downside. Anyone studying the historical record about Revere will quickly discover just how dumb the half-term governor truly is.
