Wednesday poem
American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807 – 1882) sprung to mind as I was composing the above post. Here’s the relevant passage from his well-known poem, “The Rainy Day.”
Be still sad heart and cease repining;
Behind the clouds the sun is shining,
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life a little rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.
