Shouting sweet nothings

The progressive (and usually clear-eyed) Washington Monthly wants you to know that 2 years out from the 2012 elections, "In Wisconsin, the latest survey from Public Policy Polling shows President Obama leading his potential GOP challengers in head-to-head hypothetical match-ups, but by modest margins. The president leads Mitt Romney by only four points, but is ahead of Sarah Palin in the state by 14 points." Fine, except all of this is utterly meaningless. In politics, 2 years is a lifetime. Remember when Hillary had a lock on the White House over that skinny black dude with the funny name?
