Hey Jude

Is it me, or was Paul McCartney just awful on SNL last night? The ex-Beatle performed three musical sets. I thought all were equally bad. He and the band royally screwed up the Beatle classic “A Day in the Life.” (I finally had to listen to the original to re-balance my inner musician.) At age 68, McCartney is beginning to resemble the proverbial crazy uncle who has overstayed his visit. Then again, I’m not a rock star. I guess getting off the stage must be unthinkable, even if one is a senior citizen. Rock 'n roll will never die. Neither, it seems, will Paul’s singing – no matter how bad it gets. Rock on, and pass the ear plugs.
