POLITICO reports that in the wake of the Tucson shootings, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) and Rep. Heath Shuler (D-NC) will be packing heat in their home districts for protection. Both lawmakers hold “conceal and carry” permits. On the one hand, I don't blame them. On the other hand, would turning a town hall meeting into the O.K. Corral – with shooters and lawmakers exchanging gunfire – make anyone safer? Leave your 9mm Glocks at home, gentlemen.
