There he goes again. The ever cantankerous Jack Shafer of Slate.com criticizes New York Times columnist Frank Rich's (left) decision to quit the Gray Lady for New York magazine. "Let me see if I've got this straight: Frank Rich is leaving a weekly column at the nation's most important daily newspaper for a monthly column at the second best weekly in the country. [...] unless the deal came with Bloombergian bags of cash, it makes no sense," writes Shafer. Must be a slow news day. How about this as a rationale, Jack: It makes sense to Frank Rich. That's all that matters here.
